Founded in 2019 by Raphaël Masbou, Benoit Prigent and Jeremy Masbou, Lokki has completed a first funding round of 500,000 € from Seed4Soft, Super Capital and Bpifrance Rhône-Alpes.

The funds raised will let the startup accelerate the commercialisation of its solution and build new features to make daily life easier for rental professionals. Romain Dalmasso, Head of Operations at Spendesk, is also joining the cap table as an advisor.

Lokki rides the equipment rental wave 🏄

The equipment rental market has grown steadily for about a decade, accelerated by a shift towards the usage economy and the growth of new forms of mobility.

According to Statista (2019), revenue in the equipment rental market rose from 31.4 to 39.6 billion dollars, a growth rate of +26% since 2013. Projections to 2024 show annual growth of around 5%.

Even so, most rental professionals (bikes, scooters, skis, water sports, mopeds) use management tools that are no longer of their time (paper, Excel spreadsheets), and few renters have an online booking system.

"No more daily stress about missing bookings or renting out the same equipment twice at the same time. Thanks to Lokki, I never make a mistake." Julien, manager of Olympic Sports in the Alps

Faced with that, Raphaël and Benoit (both alumni of Grenoble École de Management) and Jeremy (Epitech) decided to build SaaS software to help renters digitalise the whole rental process:

📑- Do away with paper and take the digital transformation turn ⌛- Save time and plan their day 🌐- Grow their online presence To date, the solution has already won over more than 250 equipment renters and 60,000 equipment bookings have been handled on the platform. Major retailers such as Decathlon and large franchises (Sport 2000, Intersport, Giant, SkiSet) already turn to Lokki to digitalise their rental services.

"We will pass 600 partners and 100,000 bookings before the end of 2021," says Raphaël

"Becoming the favourite digital partner of equipment renters in France"

This funding round will let Lokki position itself as one of the market's future leaders, with a clearly stated ambition: to become the favourite DIGITAL partner of equipment renters in France.

Backed by IncubaGEM and Station F, Lokki's ambition is to become the reference management software for every rental professional. By joining its cap table, Seed4Soft and SuperCapital intend to accelerate the startup's growth by putting their B2B SaaS know-how and network at its disposal.
