With its new-generation SaaS solution, the software publisher Dastra today helps many professionals optimise their organisation's regulatory compliance simply and quickly, as Paul-Emmanuel Bidault, co-founder and CEO of Dastra, explains in this interview.

Could you introduce your company in a few words, along with the field you work in?

Dastra is a software publisher specialising in data protection and regulatory compliance. It offers a SaaS solution for DPOs and companies, letting them manage their personal data obligations effectively, meet the requirements of the GDPR and the AI Act, and strengthen their data governance within a secure and compliant framework.

Which clients is your personal data protection software aimed at, and what needs does it meet?

The Dastra personal data protection software is aimed at companies, public bodies and DPOs who have to manage complex compliance processes in heavily regulated sectors such as finance, healthcare and technology.

More precisely, the tool answers the need to manage GDPR compliance and the AI Act, making it easier to centralise the register of processing activities, manage data subject rights requests, and assess risks in privacy and data governance.

Faced with competing technologies, how does your software stand apart? What does it add?

Dastra stands apart through its intuitive interface and its ability to automate key compliance processes, making data management accessible even to teams that are not technology experts.

What it adds lies in its specialised tools for DPOs. Dastra also offers a unique data governance module, which lets companies structure their compliance within a secure, modular and centralised framework, saving them time and giving them better command of their regulatory obligations.

What place does innovation hold within your company?

Innovation holds a central place at Dastra, which works to anticipate regulatory and technological change so as to offer cutting-edge privacy solutions.

The company invests in developing features built on AI and automation to simplify compliance, while strengthening data security and transparency.

Dastra is committed to offering scalable tools, suited to the new challenges facing DPOs, and to incorporating emerging requirements such as those of the AI Act in order to better support its clients in a constantly shifting regulatory environment.

What are your future issues and challenges now?

Dastra's future issues include continuously adapting to changes in data protection regulation, notably the AI Act and other emerging legislation that could influence how personal data is managed and protected.

The challenges include the need to keep innovating constantly to meet the growing needs of DPOs and companies, along with increased competition in the compliance solutions market.

We will also have to strengthen Dastra's capacity to integrate technology solutions for managing compliance processes that are ever more complex, in a context where the protection of personal data has to be guaranteed while letting companies take advantage of AI and digital innovation.
