In 1987, when Olivier left business school, he was already passionate about technology — computing, as people called it then. Rather than join a large group like his friends, Olivier chose to build his career in the emerging world of software publishing, first in France and then abroad. As time went on, entrepreneurship drew him in more and more. Taking an interest in the first internet software, he realised that email was going to revolutionise customer relations. His boss did not believe it and refused to let him buy a technology on the subject, so Olivier struck out on his own and devoted himself to building the first and the best email management tool for customer relations departments. Between 2001 and 2020 he would be both a witness to and one of the driving forces behind a deep transformation in how a company communicates with its customers. Email gradually established itself as the major alternative to the telephone, before being joined by chat, video, artificial intelligence and much else to come. Even today, despite the recent sale of his company, Olivier is in direct touch with how his market is evolving. Passionate about innovation and product culture, he sees this crisis as a tremendous opportunity for transformation.
