Paris, 13 October 2021, CodinGame, the French platform for recruiting developers and assessing technical skills online, announces its merger with CoderPad, the number one remote technical interview platform, based in San Francisco. Together, their ambition is to become the world leader in the tech recruitment market.
Making tech recruitment more transparent, more reliable and fairer
CoderPad and CodinGame want to offer their clients a complete, high-performing and scalable tech recruitment platform, from skills assessment tests through to remote technical interviews, while drawing on a global community of developers to help candidates hone their skills and prepare for recruitment interviews.
The merger comes at a time when technical skills are in greater demand than ever on the tech market. Combined, the two offerings aim to revolutionise developer recruitment and make it more transparent, more reliable and fairer.
CoderPad and CodinGame share a mission: to rethink the tech recruitment process end to end and help companies broaden their talent pools by using transparent assessment methods based on technical skills rather than CVs, qualifications or professional experience, and so avoid recruitment bias.
Both entities keep their brand, their structure and their teams, with Amanda Richardson as CEO of CoderPad and Frédéric Desmoulins as co-founder and CEO of CodinGame.
"With CodinGame, we are ideally placed to help companies recruit differently," said Amanda Richardson, CEO of CoderPad. "We share with CodinGame the view that CVs and qualifications are no longer relevant to identifying and recruiting tech talent. Together we offer a suite of high-performing products to help companies recruit the most suitable profiles on the basis of their real skills, in all their diversity."
"We are very happy to be joining CoderPad and to be able to offer our clients a complete suite of tools to manage their technical recruitment end to end, from assessment through to the online interview, with one shared watchword: recruiting on skills," said Frédéric Desmoulins, co-founder and CEO of CodinGame.
Meeting the growth needs of tech professionals
CoderPad and CodinGame are already announcing their first shared client references, such as Doctolib: "We need to grow our technical teams quickly in order to radically change the daily lives of healthcare professionals and patients. To carry out our mission, we have to rely on a solid tech team whose responsibility is to build the technology that makes this transformation possible," says David Lambert, Engineering Director at Doctolib. "CoderPad and CodinGame today let us find the best candidates and assess them fairly, while keeping an interview experience that chimes with our key value: the user first."
The merger will also draw on CodinGame's global community, where more than 2 million developers from every background can hone their programming skills and be spotted by potential employers through gamification.
"Whether it is developers wanting to acquire new skills or tech teams who want to set themselves challenges while having a good time, CodinGame makes continuous improvement of technical skills possible through original game concepts such as Coding Escape, a team-building escape game that is already winning over many companies," adds Frédéric Desmoulins. "Thanks to the close ties we keep with our community, we are always a step ahead of the market in spotting new trends in tech recruitment and skills."
For CoderPad the deal comes during a period of sustained growth, including the acquisition earlier this summer of AdaptiLab, a machine learning and data science tool, along with a growth funding round led by Summit Partners at the end of 2019.
